Hotpoint Dishwasher DWF50 door catch?

I had a piece of paper caught in the door latch (dont ask how).
I pulled it a piece cut stuck, I pushed it & the door catch has now gone to what I assume is the lock/interlock position. Apart from taking the door to pieces is there any way I can get this catch back. It looks like I may beable to loop a piece of wire & pull it, but I dont want to break it. Any ideas

Hi I have had door catch replaced 5 times it seems to roll back. The engineer has no answer for me. Hotpoint not interested. Want me to take out extended warranty which I refuse as I have had this problem from new. It is over a year since purchased from Currys. Anyone else had this problem ?

I had this problem. It was the spring on the catch. I spent ages messing about with different springs.
The best answer is to get a new mechanism. Cost me £7.50 and about 10 mins to fit it. Piece of cake

We have the same problem. I use a small electrical screwdriver to gain purchase on the side of the plastic catch which I can then gentle rock back into the open position. It's quite easy when you get the hang of it!

You can also take the front panel off and do it that way (which I used to do)

Ours is worn so I'm looking for a replacement catch - but yours may be o.k. if it's a one - off.

Hope this helps
