how can i fix my ghd's they are sparking and smoking at the end by the staightners i think the wire has gone loose by end of the staightners, how shall i fix it?

me and my mum have a pair of ghds my mums dont go as hot as they did when she got them and mine started turning them selfoff then started making ticking noises and now they have just started smoking and a hole has been made in the wire next to the streightners and you can see sparks through it.
