how do you increase the volume on the alarm in my oven?

i have a belling multifunction oven and the timer alarm has become very low. this was due to my granddaughter slamming the cooker door.
how do i increase the volume on the cooker. a man came to fix the cooker once before and he increased the volume.

have a hot point SA2540HWH electric oven but can't alter the sound for the timer. Hotpoint say you can't. Does anyone know if that's true? Why would you have a timer if you can't hear it?

Thanks to all the answers above, I've figured out that for my Lofra you just press the minus button and each time you will hear a different sound. If you try it whilst the alarm is already going off it won't change it.

Press and hold the minus button on my Hotpoint. Cycles through quite, medium and loud.

my oven has no minus nor plus buttons, please help

This worked for my Hotpoint GW54 cooker as well. Thanks!

I have a Flavel. When my alarm is sounding, I have to press the minus button to adjust the pitch and volume. Pressing the plus button switches it off.

Thanks so much to this thread. Pressing the plus and minus sign at the same time worked for me : )

Thanks to Mark's solution I have solved this for my Belling 492SS. The point is that the first time I tried it reduced the volume, the next time it cycled to high and so on. Just keep trying.

Just to say that I tried Mark's solution again and this time it did work - there must be a knack!
Thankyou
Debbie

I have tried Mark's solution and it hasn't worked. I have had the same experience as Wendy. The volume went very low once before and when a man came to fix something else, he also restored the volume of the time alarm. It has now gone very quiet again and I cannot work out how to get the volume back up again!

Cracked it! When the alarm is sounding, press both the "+" and "-" buttons together. I'm back to full volume. :-)

Mark, October 2008
It must be possible by pressing the buttons. I've just managed to turn the volume down accidentally!
