how does the roof open on a merc 230k clk cab?

Im borrowing a clk, and i had no idea how to release the roof ? i simply open the roof at the top and the windows drop, i then press the button and nothing happens ? im i being stupid or is there more to it?

There are probably safety switches to prevent roof operation while driving. Try engine off, ignition on, handbrake on, footbrake on then press button.
