there are three possibilities either the refrigerant has leaked out ,the leak will have to be found and repaired then new refrigerant introduced into the system.or the compressor is running but not pumping,a modern compressor can be fitted with some alterations to the mounting or the capillary and filter is blocked.this can be replaced with modern equivalents in each case the system will have to be re charged with refrigerant modern refrigerants can be usedbarrie

well, i am currently trying to restore an old prestcold fridge, although my knowledge is limited i would guess that the refrigerant has probably leaked out, especially if you can get the compressor to run but not chill. you could check the motor and compressor are still connected (i have no idea of the drive system, maybe a belt has perrished and broken and the motor no longer runs the compressor) you could steal the working system from a modern fridge and crowbar them inside you own one..........ill have to check the model of mine but i am on the look out for a working thermostat, so if you cant get yours to work......??
