we have moved into a new house and have never used the alarm.we have set it off when changing a light fitting and dont know how to reset it

how can i reset my optima xl6 household alarm had a burglary thy done something with the alarm and pulled out the fuse now when i try to reset it, it just keep;s going off, what do i do?
