Which is the most secure type of Bike Lock?

I have recently bought a bike and need to buy a Bike Lock.

There are several different types on the market. Which designs are most secure?

I'm wondering what the differences are between ..
- the solid U shape type
- a chain link type
- a twisted wire core type

In my experience a D lock is the most secure.Cable Locks And chains can easily be broken with Bolt Cropers with in seconds . (I know I!ve had a bike stolen) Buy The longest D lock you can afford. OK they are expensive but you can transfer it to your next bike and some manufcators will even provide you with insurence if your bike is stolen using one of threre products.I would recomend Squire Locks. I have owned a squire lock for 15 years and never had a bike stolen.I think these are still available. But Don!t buy Cheap Copies.

I'd use a D Lock, or solid U Lock, I have a £3000 Specailized which I feel safe leaving anywhere with that lock.
