purchase a set of ht. lead testers from a car store fit on and check for regular sparks on all leads , if all is well and still cuts out your looking at fuel system fault , start with a new fuel filter, check fuel pick up pipe from tank isent damaged( a hole will suck air in and not fuel) check for kinks on sharp corners,remove inlet pipe from petrol pump use apump and blow back into tank (in case of blockage) reconect after, then take pipe off output side of pump ( the one that goes to the carb.) an spin the engin over , a fair sqert of petrol should come out after a short time , if all is well here tour lookin at a carb problem , there are several carbs proberbly fitted so technical help from a workshop book ( haynes ) will be needed to strip and rebuild the carb if its an SU there quit simple you will need a service kit from halfords or unipart or where ever
