hi there.... my jvc also will not record so i put a search on the net for jvc camcorder repairs and i found an article by which saying that jvc has admitted a fault problem with a sensor in some of their camcorders and has offered free repairs for the models on the page untill october 1 2007 worth a look ken.......gary.ps didnt get yours of qvc did you my model is gr-d70ek is yours the same..good luck
