External to internal connection (bt line)?

I have a BT phone line which is live but has been cut during window installation. How do I connect the external wiring (I believe to be 7 wires in total) to the internal wiring-phone socket? I phoned BT and they quoted me £120 pound to rectify the problem :(

Yes and you work for BT? .... and your commission is what?

There are not 7 conductors, 3 of them are an inbuilt catenary(support). The other 4, should be orange, white, green and black. This type of cable can provide 2 exchange lines. If you have only one line, it will invariably be on orange and white. Connect these two conductors to terminals 2&5 respectively, your line should then be restored .

You cannot. Apart from anything else it is illegal. The correct action is to get BT reconnect you and recover the cost from the windows installer. They will have public liability insurance to cover this. £120 is the standard fee which is set by the regulator not BT.
