i have a murray 18.5 it also was backfiring but ran yesterday i ran it for 10 min going down yard shut it off went back to it no start now i have no fire at plug took off case where plug wires connect i dont see any fire took off wire on thepeice where plug wires go in no fire help
mate u most probably need to get the coil checked . otherwise another problem can be dirty sensors which earth out the mower, there is one under the seat, cutting deck and clutch make sure they are clean
