How can I replace the water pump on a 2004 model Peugeot 307?

After a recent 100 000km service,I was informed that the water pump requires replacing (causing a rattling noise).Can this be done at home ? The cost of the water pump is around R500.The labour is estimated at R2500.Therefore I would like to do it at home.
