watts Model - 9D-M3-1/2'' backflow preventer?

I replaced the leaking backflow valve twice this month and each one leaked after installation.Any idea's what could be
wrong? The original valve lasted 10 yrs. before leaking.

Water line had dirt in it from installation of new feed supply.
Flushed line, cleaned valve,reinstalled valve and OK now not
leaking
