The central locking on my Citreon Saxo wont work. I've change battery on remote and i now think its the car itself. Buttons on inside of car go up and then straight back down when button has been pressed. You can enter the car via passenger side 'only if' you keep your finger on the remote, but when it comes to the drivers side you can't open it from the outside of the car or the inside. Sometimes when you press button on central locking - inside buttons might stay up but you still can't get in via drivers side.

Please can you help.

Sounds like you need to take the car to a Citroen dealer Sarah as it sounds like the PCM module which controls the central locking is kaputt. What you can do is to disconnect the car battery, after you have made a note of the radio code, and reconnect it after about 5 minutes. This may clear your problem but more than likely not. If the car starts OK then the remote key is fine.
