Smeg cooker - Has my element gone ?

My Smeg suk91 cooker made a loud bang last night, it caused the fuse to go in the fusebox, which I repaired, but the fan, grill and oven are no longer working, although the electric ignition for the gas hob, the LED and other electrics on the cooker are ok - any ideas please ?

I have a Smeg SUK91. The oven has stopped working but the fans are moving round, there is no heat. Has the element gone? and can I repair this myself?

Hi Iain
The elements on the back panel of my suk91 have gone five times in less than 18 months of minimal use. There are also fumes being given off during the odd periods when it has worked which may be due to heat affecting the seals or insulation. I am now trying to get an independent technicians report as I have concerns about the safety of the appliance. Will post results when I have them. Cold air seems to be drawn onto the back elements from around the edges of the back plate and blown out through the grills over the front of the elements in the middle of the oven, contrary to other fan assisted ovens so not sure if this has contributed to the problem.
When one element has blown it has normally been followed by a second failure within weeks so may be worth checking to see which elements should be replaced in pairs rather than individully.
Good luck
Harriet

Hi David - thank you. I reset the clock and everything was fine. One of the elements round the fan had gone. It cost me £40 for a new element, but everything is fine now.

Mine failed yesterday, also with a bang & blowing the main fuse in the house fuse box. But after re setting the clock I found everything worked except for the upper oven element. So it is useable but not on the full fan assisted mode. Heat only apparent from the bottom part of the oven.
I am not yet certain of how to get it fixed but pretty certain the element has gone you will need to find out which one though. p.s my cooker is the same model
