how can i get my car running?

i have a seat alhambra auto but when i turn the key it just makes tickiing noises which i am told is a fault code. I had a mechanic take a quick look, he said possible relay switches but couldn't really c anything wrong with them. I bought it with a gear box sensor on the blink but was told it doens't have a sensor then the gear box went. It has been replaced just but cannot c if it works as cannot start the car. Its not battery

If your Alhambra is anything like my 97` TDI, try scrapping the damn thing. We`ve had ours 4 years now and we have it serviced every 6 months whether it needs it or not. BUT we have to put it in the garage approx. twice in between these services. There seems to be no end to it. The engine is fine but everything else seems to go. At the moment its in the garage AGAIN as water has got in, flooded the passenger footwell and put the ECU under water which is under the front passenger seat. Now i`ve got to locate a recon/ second hand one or pay £329 for a new one on top of the labour of the garage mechanics, who always fall to the floor when my car comes into the forecourt!! Save your money and buy something reliable, I AM. I`ve had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!
