bleed radiators?

how do you bleed a radiator, should the heating be on or off
Dot, September 2007
Turn your heating off and start bleeding from the downstairs working your way to the upstairs.Turn the bleed key and release the air until water comes out.always handy to hold a cloth to catch the drips and spills. PS DON'T FORGET TO TIGHTEN THE BLEED SCREW BACK UP.
