I have a Veritas R8 alarm, I am trying to set up a part set to exclude the landing so I can have downstairs alarmed at night. Ive done the proccess from the user guide code, part, omit, 5(landing zone), prog. this seems to work but there is no delay in the hall so as soon as i come down stairs the alarm sounds! (no good at 6 in the morninig!)

Any ideas?

I have advantage intruder alarm that cannot programme the entry time. As soon as I set the exit time. And walk out the building Wait 30 seconds for it to arm.
And Entering the building. Go straight off into alarm state. I have tried programming the entrance time, for 30 seconds, same as the exit. Why can't I set the alarm.

you need to use the hall as your entry/exit zone one. You can set the character of the zone if its different. What is usual is

1 -entry/exit.
2 -inhibited entry.
3 -Guard.


To set, enter engineer mode, press 1 then the zone you want to use as the entry exit, for eg 1 then press for the type 1 then press prog. so in summary. ent eng code press 1,1,1 prog. this will set zone one as ent/ex with timer which is pre set to 30 seconds.

for info you should have one ent/exit area with the rest set to guard status to activate immediately on alarm condition
