I have recently moved into a new home. We have a Caloric Heritage Series Gas Range.

I have never used a gas oven before, and was wondering how the oven works, the oven dial is not readable. When I turn the oven on, I can smell gas, but cannot see a pilot light. Can you identify for me where the pilot light is supposed to be and whether I can use an appropriate lighter to ignite the oven?

I have tried looking in broiler area to see pilot light and can see it, but it will not will not 'turn' on oven....can you help.

i have the same stove and the pilot light is under the oven where your broiler is. there is ONE pilot light. the problem with those ovens is the thermostat goes out alot. depending on how old it is. good luck!
