As instructed by my Mitsubishi garage. Switch ignition on; press both buttons together until light stops flashing; press small button twice not too rapidly and that should be that.

just use patience and read the above steps. it took me three turns to get both my fobs programmed.
thanks guys

Hey guys, I had lost both my keys and nothing worked here is what i did.
1) ignition off
2)I had dip switch 3 in the control box on, I turned this off and turned dip switch 2 on.
3)held down both buttons at once till the light stopped flashing, then pressed right button then left.
4)set dip switch 2 off and switch 3 on again and hey presto it worked. Hope my trial and error can help you.

You don't need to insert your key into ignition. Just leave the fob without the battery for 2 mins, (put the battery now) hold 2 buttons for 10-12 secs and then click the big one two times. I have just reprogrammed 2 fobs for Galant using this method.

had the same problem of the light not turning off when i pressed the two buttons.
wait 2 min and make sure when you put the new batt in that the light is lit up solid red. then press and hold the buttons , light will blink so wait until it stops.
then press the big button twice for a second each time.
each time the light will blink then stop. and the door should unlock.
this worked for me. hope it helps. i know how frustrating it is now.

Worked perfect for my 2005 Shogun 3.2D, although I did have the key in the ignition.

(1) open up your keyfob and remove the battery for around 2 mins.

(2) - insert new battery (if needed). The red-light stays on all the time

(3) - go to the car (I now put the key into the ignition and turned to when the electric came on) and press the big button twice. This only took about 10 seconds, but may differ.

(4) - the red-light goes out and this has now synchronised the fob to the alarm.

Thanks,

Kev

With alarm set...press both buttons until red led goes out..release both buttons..press left button (big one) twice. Done!

I'm in Portugal and my Keyfob Alarm is a 7777-06 and for me worked like Steve Brown says:

"I phoned Cobra in the UK and this answer solved my problem. Apparently, it needed synchronising again:

(1) open up your keyfob and remove the battery for around 2 mins.

(2) - insert new battery. The red-light stays on all the time

(3) - go to the car and press the big button twice.

(4) - the red-light goes out and this has now synchronised the fob to the alarm.

(NOTE) If you want to get to stage 2 without re-inserting the battery, press and hold BOTH buttons for a while until the light comes on.

Hy guys Here is the solution !!!
I've tried the other solutions with no luck but this 1 did the trick !!!

1. open up the key fob and remove the battery for 2 mins.

2. Insert new battery. The red-light stays on all the time.

3. Press Both of the Buttons - the light will start blinking

4. When the blinking light stops- stop pressing the right button and then the left one.

5. Try to use the key fob.

6. If it doesn't work repeat steps 3-4 again until it finds the right frequency.

Good Luck!

i have an intermittant problem with my cobra 7777 Alarm, ive replaced the door pins as the dash said that the two front doors were always open, this problem has now gone, but the key fob plays up still, the alarm goes off rather alot, and wont stop, i often find the car has been unlocked overnight, i think i need to retune/re-syncronise the alarm? anyone with any ideas on how to go about this would be appreciated, i also have a honda accord alarm on the car that has not been disarmed??

I confirm the answer by Steve Brown from June 2008 works - just saved me serious problems! Thanks

Solved.
Remove the new battery, wait 2-3 minutes, press the buttons a few times.
Put the battery back. Now, the LED stays lit, without pressing any buttons. If you wait, or press one of them, the LED will go out, and we're ready.

I have the same problem (tried with 2 different (E.....zer, D....ell) CR2032 batteries).

Anyway, to answer the question:
The re-coding procedure:
Open the centralized command with the remote control. Do not turn on the ignition.
Set DIP SWITCH N° 2 to the > ON < position on the part N° 000 054 640 (the little black box).
Press the two buttons on one of the transmitters (either can be used) until its LED goes out. Release the keys. The LED will remain on. Now briefly press the bigger key. The LED will come on for about 1 sec.

The problem is that with the new battery, the LED won't go out, no matter how long i press the two button...
Anybody?
