Hotpoint WM52 motor overheating?

Have replaced bushes & since then although all works ok motor seems to be overheating & smells of cooking plastic!!
Any advice.. can't see anything amiss & there isn't much sparking internally?

you may find that the brush housing is melting did you clean the armature up b4 fitting the brushs?

Could also be the bearings of the motor, try removing the belt and checking for tight bearings or check also the washer drum, failing this you may need to replace the motor.

I was told they were, laminated brushes & they were in a Hotpoint branded sealed bag???

Did you buy genuine Hotpoint brushes?

Cheap alternatives overheat, and completely wreck motors.
