No pilot light potterton netaheat 10-16 boiler -?

Boiler was working fine until gas supply was cut off due to faulty meter , gas meter was fixed within 6 hours , Only problem now is that the pilot light will not fire up ,
is there any connection between these two ?
any other way i can light the pilot ?

Many Thanks

done
Just like Gaz I had to replace the pilot flame sensor back in 2000 when the boiler was 12 years old so I think I'll get another now.

I had to replace the pilot flame sensor on mine and that worked a treat. It was only a few quid

Tried everything but boiler still won't ignite. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

there will probably be air in the pipe to the pilot as it is
electronic ignition it will need bleeding before the boiler will
light!

Th potterton netaheat 10- 16 range has electronic ignition and so will have no pilot light.
as already stated your gas supplier has a legal obligation to ensure appliances are operating as before and safely, contact them

when transco repaired the meter they should of tested the appliances it is the law to do so if oyur gas is ok everywhere else hob etc it could be a blockage in the pilot ignition tube

so do you have any idea what the problem could be ?
Is it expensive & do i need to call a Corgi Plumber ?

Many Thanks

netaheat 10-16 does not have a pilot ..it has automatic ignition

usually when you are lighting a pilot you have to either hold a button in while you try to light it and keep it held in for a shor time after it has lit to activate the flame failure device. it may not be a button it could be a twist knob that fires a spark at the end of it's travel but if the pipe has air in you will have to keep it twisted for a while (or pushed in if a button) and try again hope this helps please let me know

sorry i dont know nothing about boilers at all , where do i find this red button ?

Thanks again

David S, April 2005
silly question but have you waited long enough with the button pressed in for the air to clear the system?
