i have an indesit we16s uk washer and today it started blowing the trip switches in my house, then it smelled of burning.


on examination i could see nothing obvious, but i managed to reset it and it ran ok for about 1 minute then blew again, is this a common fault, now i cant even open the flaming door to remove my clothes. i cant even remember when i bought it and whether or not it is covered by warranty. no error codes on screen though. please help me, i cant afford an engineer or a replacment as i am on benefit.. fanx all..

it sounds very much like your heater or motor has gone to earth. does it blow when the drum starts to rotate? or after it has filled with water? one would indicate the motor the other the heater
