We followed this exactly and now have a working dryer - however our thermostat had a slightly different code (may have been fixed before), and when we took it to the shop they said it was resettable and reset it free of charge - bargain! Thanks

Hi there

Great description Gosling, I just wanted to add that the genuine part number is C00095566. They can be found more easily using this as they come in a kit. I have found it slightly cheaper on http://www.yourspares.co.uk/Product.aspx?Product_ID=74859

Okay, I have just had the same problem again having fixed it only 18months ago. It seems this fails fairly regularly. For me it was the left of the two thermostats in the back

BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS - UNPLUG IT.

At the back of the Dryer;
Undo the small shaft cover - 2 screws - Pozidrive Size 2 I think
Undo the back bar - 2 screws - Same Pozidrive Size 2
Undo the back cover - About 8 screws - Again Pozidrive Size 2

You will see the two thermostats - The left one has a green dot on it.

Using a multi-meter set to Ohms (check the meter reads zero when the leads are touched together)

Disconnect the wires from the left thermostat
Touch the leads across the thermostat
If it is faulty, it will be open circuit - the needle will not move

The code on the side of the thermostat is:

36FXE14 20102 L130C S0504

I have found a place to buy them here:

http://www.espares.co.uk/part/p/0/0/0/0/487865/thermostat-kit.html?k=T632CW

But you may be able to get them locally.

There is one of each thermostat in the packet, but I only needed the left (green dot one).

To remove the thermostat - Remove the single screw - Posidrive size 1 I think
Ease out the thermostat and replace with the new one.
Replace the small screw.
Reconnect the wires.
Take care refitting the covers in the reverse order of the above. Cover, bar, Shaft cover. All the back screws are the same.

Hope this helps

Gosling
