i have a veritas 8 alarm and its gone faulty. it went off this afternoon and would not take the reset code it just made low pitch beeps, and now its just gone off again and zone 1 and the unset light are on but it won't do anything now its just froze, i turned the main power off but i need help.
sound to me you need new battery. when they get old or go faulty they make your alarm do strange things. it'll definatly need new one if you've down powered it.

Turning off the mains supply is only half the battle. Most alarms are equipped with a battery backup to offer continued protection during power cuts, and to retain the memory.
You will need to turn off the mains AND disconnect the battery for a while. Be warned, once the power is reapplied you may discover the alarm has forgotten everything - including your code(s).
If the above does not work then your alarm is probably equipped with non volatile memory and will need to be professionally repaired.
