I've read that this is something to do with the refridgerator divert valve in the back that is sticking.....is this true?

Yes we have had the same problem with our samsung SRL316NW

First it starting making funny noises then a buzzing noise. Eventually the panel displayed rd (it also showed dd at first then it changed to rd) and started beeping.

We just had it fixed and apparently the divert fan at the back of the freezer compartment froze and stopped transferring air to the fridge.
