how can i fix my ford its squeaking?

my 97 escort is squeaking when i pull away it only does it when i go through 1st and 2nd i dont think its the suspension as it does not do it when i go over speed bumps .

Is this only happening when you accelerate from a stand still?
If so you need to inspect your fan belt.
I hate seeing people pulling away from a stop sign squealing.
This is caused by the belt slipping as you accelerate.

my friend also had a 97 ford, a fiesta, but it still made a squeaking noise at low speeds, ee ee ee ee etc., we never figured out what it was but it didnt seem to cause any problems until he crashed it. now we'll never know.
