Oily leak on driver side, ford focus ghia 2002?

Hi.I have ford focus 1.8 ghia,2002. I found small (few drops)leak on driver side in the footwell, near the clutch pedal. It is not water, looks like oil ,light-brown colour. It is droping from underneath the dashboard.I guess.Should I worry about this.
What is that forcasting? Help.

Ive the same problem with my car for 3 years and a couple of garages i went to seemed reluctant to do it. Either it really is a nightmare or their just lazy! So i gave up finding a garage id trust my car with so I want to do it myself but struggling to find decent step by step guide to follow. Too much conflicting info on net lol Any help would be appreciated.

mine is in the garage now having the master cylynder replaced they have quoted me £136-00 about 2 hours to do . it is a 2003 focus ghia . the first signs are the rubber pad on the clutch pedal comes off and is wet with fluid which has run down the pedal stem happy motoring edward staffordshire

Hi,
I had a clutch master cylinder replaced by a mechanic who i think ripped me off. He charged me £101 for the part and labour at £90.
And he said that he was really honest and was charging me fair.

I work in a garage and have just fitted an 02 clutch master cylinder today, it took 50 minutes and the airbox does not have to be removed to bleed it as you can just get in with a 11mm spanner but the pipes are much easier from underneath.

Had the same on mine and it got worse, turned out to be the clutch master cylinder (common problem on these) but will need fixing since it shares the brake fluid resevoir, keep an eye on the level until fixed. Bought new one from ford for just under £80, fitted it myself using haynes manual, took a couple of hours, difficult bit is reaching into engine compartment to access pipes, haynes says to jack up car to do this from below, but I found it easier to reach in from above. Also to reach the clutch bleed screw you need to remove the air filter & a few related pipes, not too difficult though. Good Luck
