McCulloch 335 chain saw wont start?

My McCulloch chain saw model 335 wont run. It starts and cut logs for a short time then stops, starts for 2 seconds then stops again. There seems to be a problem between the trigger throttle control and the choke mechanism, the throttle cable remains slack inside the handle. Please can you help?

I have just had the same problem with a chainsaw, all I did was to empty all the petrol out and to pour some clean petrol only into the tank, each time I shook the chainsaw vigorously and each time out came more sludge from the bottom of the tank, its a common problem with lawn mowers and chainsaws, when they are left standing after use all the muck drops to the bottom and builds up, empty the tank out regularly to avoid this problem, after washing the tank out 3 times it fired up first time, Good Luck, Jim of Bearwood.
