blue sparks from vacuum cleaner?

I have an upright Bosch 1700W HEPA vacuum cleaner. When I start it up, for the first few seconds it makes blue sparks, accompanied by soft popping noises, inside the machine. There is a smell a bit like burning (?or ozone?) - but my carpets are not visibly harmed. Does anyone have advice on mending the cleaner? Also, if anyone knows where I can download the manual I'd be really grateful. Many thanks

Hi

If there is a poor connection some arcing may take place with a smell like ozone; one poor connection could be if brushes on the motor are worn, they are a service item.
Years ago I had a similar problem on a Hoover, bought cheaply as it made loud cracking noises in a random way. The fault was declared on this newish machine, I thought I could fix it. I could, a capacitor connection was arcing to nearby metal, I moved it away, no more cracking noises, used it for years.

you need to check your brushes if they are long and spring out easily then it either your motor of the centred armature is dirty and need of cleaning (can be cleaned at the shop) or the motor is needed to be replaced.

sorry for inconviences
