95 mondeo fan not working?

I have a 95 mondeo estate for some time now the fan has only worked on full. but now even that has started to play up it does work but not properly it sounds like there might be something blocking the vents and there for i can not demist the windows properly. my boyfriend keeps saying he will look at it but am still waitting! so i thought i woud try to sort it my self but would not know where to start any ideas would be great or if someone has come across the same sort of thing

No, it's not likely to be the pollen filter (but changing it in accordance with service schedule is well advised because if the blower ends up needing replacing, it is a lengthy job). The most likely cause is the power supply to the blower which is in two parts. The bit that controls blower speed 1, 2 & 3 is behind the glove box, and Ford knows that it sometimes gets fried. Take out the glove box (check manual) and inspect the wiring. Replace if necessary (bit of soldering needed). A pain, but otherwise fairly simple task (especially if you can get the spare part from a broken car).

Hi
Might be the pollen filter need's to be changed. If its blocked the fan can't suck enough air in to circulate it round the heater matrix and into the vent's, which would explain why your only getting air with the fan on full. On most mondeo's it's hidden by the window wiper motor under the facia grill.
