Zanussi FJDR1666W?

my washer has just stopped mid cycle with 22 minutes left (drain and spin left) .
I used the pause button twice, as if to simulate a pause, and it carried on working (drum turning etc) but after 3 minutes (19 mins left on cycle) it stopped again. i can manually end the cycle and open the door. but its as if the timer has frozen.

NB if i start a new wash program it sets the time correctly but all you hear is a buzzing noise. there is also a faint burning smell. any suggestions... thanks

Zanussi FJDR1666W are prone to pump failure, if the does not empty it will not spin ! The burning smell is either the pump winding overheating or the ciruit board. If you are still displaying the time in the window there is a good chance the circuit board is ok.First job is to check that there is no coins etc stuck in the filter.Second job remove and inspect the pump for overheating.Unplug the machine, tilt it over..you will see the pump fitted to the filterbox, release the little tab, twist the pump body and remove.Even if it looks good it may be faulty. You should be able to pick up a new one for about £20.oo If your around Birmingham send me an email
