Leaking White Knight 767C tumble dryer fixed!?
Not a question but notes on how I fixed (I hope) our WK 767C.
The fault was that the sump pump had failed - common fault it seems. What had happened was that the cap and o-ring holding the pump impellor on it's shaft had come off and jammed it. I removed the impellor cover, easy click fitting, and one impellor vane was bent but this bent back OK.
I checked the pump ran by connecting it to a test lead, made from a mains lead and spade connectors, be careful unguarded mains voltage connectors!
I pushed the O-ring back on and glued the cap, which was a poor push fit, back in place using evostick type contact adhesive. Hopefully it will hold, if not I will buy a replacement off Ebay which is by far the cheapest place to source one I have found so far. How can spares suppliers justify £40+ for a piece of tacky crap like that pump?
Not so soggy now!, October 2007
