i have a candy fridge freezer ,the bottom half is the freezer the top half is the fridge but it is freezing as well. this only started when the bulb started playing up. could this have anything to do with it?

i have exactly the same freezer and exactly the same thing happened. didn't know what to do. so turned it down to minimum (hoping to use up contents of freezer before it defrosted!) this was xmas eve. just opened my freezer now and it was defrosting. turned the controls back to normal and it's now working. i can only think that ice got inside the tube at the drip tray. this may not be permanent and may still need some sort of repair
