Is it possible to fit a secondary alternator to a 2001 ford transit?

I Am installing a numerous amount of incar entertainment in my 2001 2litr turbo diesel duratorque ford transit and have been advised the best way to achieve the sufficient amount of out put from the alternator to run the amps would be to fit a sceond battery with a split charge kit and run all this off an additional alternator? Hope some one can help me!!!!!!!!

You might want to install a higher amp alternator but wouldn`t need a secondary alt ......on alot of diesel cars they have 2 batterys and 1 alt .....both are charged

If you are fitting a split charge relay for the second battery then why would you want to fit a second alternator?
