A cheap fix for MY 1998 Diesel Vectra 2.0 DTi Fuel Pump?
A 1998 Vectra 2.0 DTi Fuel Pump costs £850.00 + Vat Plus Diagnostics + Fitting. I am learning that this is not that unusual accross a range of cars. The Pump is Mechanical! Runs off the Crank. Mechanically the Pump is fine! However there is an Electronic element to the pump which is linked to the Immobiliser System, and the Chipped Key. So in order to protect a £1000 investment in my 1998 Vectra I must spend £1000 on a Fuel Pump, which keeps the Immobilser system intact. Absolute Maddness. Maybe Rover didn't think of such Nasty tricks to keep them in business. HAS ANYONE MANAGED TO CRACK THIS PROBLEM?
