Replacing battery on Scantronic 9448 system?

During a recent power-cut the alarm system failed with a tamper fault. the key-pad wasn't illuminated and I wasn't able to enter my code to silence. The battery failed which wasn't a surpise as it was about 6 years old.

I've now replaced the battery but the problem I have is the Tamper light is permanently on and I can't clear it. This has been the case since the failure.

What I am trying to avoid is re-setting back to factory settings and having to re-programme. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Tony

try linking out the tamper circuit on the pcb for the bell ov and tr. if this clears the tamper then it may be the bell battery or the cabling itself although a power cut would cause a cable fault. also make sure the lid tamper switch on the main panel is located properly and that you can hear it click when you close the box - good luck. Failing this call gardiner security 0208 699 9900 and ask for scantronics tel no then choose tech support
