I just bought a 2002 ford escort, the horn did not work, i put a new horn in, and now when i blow the horn it stays on, and sometimes just starts honking continusuly by its self. I took the fuse out for now, should I change the horn relay? if that dont work, i need to check the horn switch in the steering wheel, how do i remove the cover, with out interfering with the air bag, any help would be appricated. thanks claude at email address claudetinkerer@aol.com

I am fixing my problem now. You have to take off the bolts behind steering wheel holding on airbag assembly. Center of steering column pops off and wires coming out bottom into connector are horn wires. Dissconect wire connectors to horn and center airbag wires(Pops right out) Take out screws holding airbag to cover and remove horn switch and replace. Oh yeah. Disconnect battery before doing anything with airbag or it may go off. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before working to discharge backup power. That switch is a piece of cr*p.
