Hotpoint CTD00 condenser dryer. Empty water light won't go off & no heat?
A few days ago I forgot to empty my condenser dryer and now the empty water light won't go off and no heat is being generated.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
John was spot on, coupled with a you tube video to show me where and how to get into the pump unit. Cleaned out all the accumulated gunk and it's working again. Many thanks. HappyPregnantWoman.

JohnM - you're a legend. Just applied same fix to my tumble dryer & it worked a treat.
Great description - made it very easy to follow.
Many thanks!

Also be aware of the components in the water pump. It has a thin green rubber fan component that will stretch and fail over time which means the water in the condenser compartment is not pumped up the the top chamber and you will either have to replace the pump - about £25 or keep dismantling the top and side panel to remove and empty the bottom water chamber.

To remove the top of the dryer, do not unscrew anything other than the two screws at the rear holding the top in place. Once removed, pull the lid sharply towards the rear - it will move back a few inches then you can just lift it off.

JohnM`s suggestion worked a treat - we have two dogs that are forever moulting and our condensor resorvoir was gammed up with hair.. followed his instructions and it now works perfectly (saving us an expensive call out charge and fix)..

Quick Question - how do you remove the top, I can see the two screws at the top rear but having removed them cannot see how to release the front of the top

I have just had a similar problem and fixed it today.
The "Empty Water" light was staying on and no heat was given out to dry the load.
I found it to be the float switch in the condenser unit at the back left. It had stuck with fluff and debris. I cleaned out the condenser reservoir and the polystrene float and now all is well.
To get to this unit you must first,
Take of the top and the left hand side panel.
Locate the 2 locking tabs that hold the top half of the condenser onto the back panel and release this part.
Remove this by releasing 2 further tabs that hold it to it's bottom half,
and you will see the float switch assembly on the left hand side.
Clean out the condenser reservoir of any water and aslo clean the polystyrene float, it needs to be free to slide up and down between the plastic guides.
Hope this helps.
