ford ka tailgate wiper blade removal?

Haynes manual says pull the tailgate wiper blade from the wiper arm using fingers only. Impossible, any suggestions?

Get a massive hammer and mash it to bits

Check the bottom of the blade for any tipe of clippers or other "devides" holding it into place.
