IBM laptop?

I have an IBM laptop ThinkPad T40 with window xp. The problem with my laptop is that it wouldnt show any image on the screen when it is running. I try to hook it up on another monitor but it didnt work. I think the video card is mess up but am not sure. If it is the video card, i have no clue how it look like or where it is locate in the laptop and I have no idea how to fix it. Could you please help me.
