how to remove ignition switch 2004 astra van?

switch on van turns but will not operate ignition or starter ignition is on all the time i have to disconect the battery thank you jcn

Where the key goes is the key cylinder and the ingnition switch is on the bottom of the steering colum
All the key cylinder does is push a rod into the ingnition switch and turns things on ect.
