how to un jam door lock on vauxhall vectra?

how do you get the door open on a vauxhall vectra that has jammed shut?
Simon Dann, November 2007
Just unlocked and opened the rear drivers door on my js Vectra which has been jammed shut for weeks....

I can confirm that yes remove the door trim, drill out where the picture posted above shows and turn the white plastic cog away from you and you will hear a faint click and bang the door opens... ( i personally found there was no need to remove the window at all, you just need a very long drill bit to reach )

Then simply disconnect the loom and manually lock/unlock as per usual.

I just want to thank everyone here for your help you just saved me a fortune guys :-)

Take the negative lead off the battery for 5 mins. Then reconnect it which will set off the alarm, turn the ignition on and the locks should unlock. This works cos i fixed my mates vectra this morning and saved him a fortune.

vectra b, gm doorlock central powerlock, vauxall, saab some kinds, : if door is stuck closed you can drill a hole on top left corner of white box printed on lock inside door and move levers inside towards you, to make lock work right again, drill a hole on the mouth side of lock , top left corner too, just under screwhole above, move white gear inside until stops moving. done. and the electric socket first , lift the red part high up, dont connect it again. dont use electric locking again on it.

no need to remove the window, drill a small hole on the top left corner of white box printed on lock, screwdriver inside , move levers inside towards you.

In this photos you can see where to make the hole:

If the door is locked and you can't open it you have to take apart door card, being the only problem the wire made omega of the window lever (very difficult to see). Once you have taken away the door card you have to dismount the rubber profile around the window and the window glass itself using light anti rust oil to extract it from the slot in wich it is pressed in. Then take the glass out of the door (attention as it fits very tight in the hole, to be able to put it away). Then you have to dismount the rear slide of the glass, the outer door handle and you have access to the door lock. You will see it as a black plastic pad and to be able to unlock it you'll need to drill a hole through it in the proper place (you can buy a used one and detach it to pieces to see where is the proper place.
If you dont want to do all this and take the car to the workshop they are going to cut through your door outer plate with the radial grinder and destroy the lock to be able to open the door (the cost for you increases ten times)

I have a vectra whose passenger door was shut and would not open. This was after replacing this door with one from a scrap yard. The door would not unlock using the key fob or the manual door knob.
After much work we figured out that the deadlock had engaged when it was first closed.
To resolve, I replaced the new doors black controller box with the one from the original door and bingo everything works again.

I would imagine the only way to release it if it's the catch thats causing it is to remove the door trim. Never done one on a vecy but most are basically the same principle ie remove plastic trim, a few screws here and there, not to bad a job. Then you should be able to release it manually and replace the offending part, Does the central locking release on that side? Daft question but have you tried unlocking the door manually with the key or is it a back door thats jammed? Will the lock release rom the inside and open it? Good luck
