i had a rover metro diesel on a n reg and the battery went dead i put new battery on the immobilizer kicked in and the alarm and i couldnt turn the vehicle over got told to leave the key in the ignition on / off cant remember but after some time the alarm disarms and so does the immobilizer 5 mins or so whilst it energises something in the car then the car turns over and starts it might work for you try curt

try removing the central locking fuse(under the bonnet) and then turnung the ignition on , repeat this until the warning light on the dashboard goes out you should then be able to continue using the car as normal

you need to find your bypass code in your handbook (mine was the same as my radio code). start with the door locked and with the key in the door enter the code like a combination lock using the key. e.g. if combination is 1234, turn key to unlock once, lock twice, unlock threetimes and lock four times. now when you unlock the door the horn will sound once and the imobilizer is now off.
