almost certainly the o/h stat tripped. take top off you'll see two stats on the top of the aluminium duct one has a hole in the midle( if it's not been done before hotpoint seal them with a waxy stuff but its easy to get through,using a needle of drawing pin ( after you've made sure its unplugged ) push gently down the hole till you hear an audible click this is it reset and it'll more thaqn likely heat.
