i have a1979 briggs and stratton twin cylinder model401707 type0134 code 79?

i have put a electronic coil on done away with points and still cannot get a spark can you help

Either you have a duff coil/ingition module, or the STOP wire/switch is grounded. If the original coil is ok, put it back & install a NOVA module (look it up, or search EBAY). Still no points to worry about, but the ignition module is now separate (and therefore replaceable).
