How do i get my webcam in the laptop to work on my new advent laptop?

Hey there, my problem is I've got a new advent laptop and the installation of everything is fine, the problem is the webcam doesnt work??? Any button to press!!! Thnaks..

mines doesnt work at all !! Who got it from currys!? Currys are totally crap salepeople they gave me a laptop with lots of viruses in it! I don't recumend currys !! xxx

mine has same problem.. i got it for christmas and it worked before. the blue light still on as normal and button on msn is there.. mine is fn f6 for webcam and it is telling me it is on. but not showing up on msn. just a webcam pic with a cross through it. how do i get settings on it?

If you have the advent 5312, (the one that if you press Fn and F11, your webcam turns on and off) then to use your webcam, you need to download a program.
I downloaded yawcam (search in google)
It's free and works well.

I have a new advent laptop too ! I'm not too sure if it's obvious but on mine, there's a silly system where you press Fn then F11, it could be another one like F6 and you can find out by looking at the blue pictures on the keys, I really hope I helped :)

On my laptop its the FN button and F11 to turn the camera on. Mines works and everything but when I go on to someone over MSN it always freezes then disconnects me.. any suggestions on whats wrong?

I am having the same problem with my Advent 5312, but on mine the Function F-10 key controls the wireless! I have downloaded Yawcam and this program cannot detect the webcam either! Anymore suggestions pLEASE? The cam works fine with messenger.

the advent laptop has the inbuilt webcam which is activated by pressing 'function F10'. The we green light then comes on beside the lens. There is no software on the laptop for the camera to function, but it does work when using an independent programme, like skype or msn.
I had this same problem and called up the techguys and it seems to be just the way its done.

try opening msn with the camera turned on then go to webcam / video settings. the picture should appear in the box.
