Fixing a Hotpoint TDC62?

My Hotpoint TDC62 condenser dryer manages to partially dry a load - generating heat OK, but the automatic cut-out seems to stop it too early - always leaving us with damp clothes. I've replaced the thermostats in the past and as I say, it generates heat. Is this likely to be a sensor problem? Could I have lost a heater element? Could one out of two thermostats have gone giving me a partially functioning dryer?

I had the same problem,

I de-fluffed the whole thing, made sure alarm button on front was off and the machine's working fine now.

Have you managed to find the solution to this Ian? My TDC62 is doing exactly the same thing on the synthetics sensor drying programme. It stops way too early leaving the clothes very wet. I have to keep restarting it periodically until it eventually dries them.

I was just looking to replace the dryer altogether when I stumbled across your post.
