how can i fix my hoover hdv6 tumble dryer?

when i press the on switch the tumble dryer operates but as soon as you release the switch it stops. I have already replaced the switch and the fault is still apparent, and it is not the door interlock as the dryer will not operate will the door open so that rules the door micro switch out.

yes i had the same problem and its the pcb relay . you have to remove the top via three screws from the back and the pcb is then visible. unfortunatley the two screws holding the pcb are screwed from the front of the machine. you can dismantle the whole front or in my case unscrew them with pliers on the thread end. its awkward but saves a lot of hassle. once removed just replace the new pcb and re-screw from inside. job done!

I used the info above and fixed my dryer yesterday. The guys at espares were fantastic and I had the circuit board within 3 days. Thanks for your help!

Hi, I've found the fault on the internet on a few sites and the fault is the Relay PCB. A new one can be bought from http://www.espares.co.uk/part/tumble-dryers/hoover/hdv6uk/p/1088/107/0/677491/209751/relay%2fpcb.html?k=relay
for £11.99, but it looks as though you have to take half the machine to bits to fit it. Oh not bad for £11.99 - Good luck, just off to order mine now.

I have the same fault on mine too, i'm just searching the internet for the answer. However to get the dryer to work i have put a link across the on/off switch and this then allows the dryer to work. BUT do not leave it like this once the dryer has stopped as it hums, open the door and it stops.
