The battery is charged but it still shorts out on cold mornings..why?

This is a Fiat Punto 1.2 elx on an 02 plate. Ever since my father-in-law changed the left headlight bulb,he moved the fuse box a little to be able to fit it,that very day it shorted out,but it worked as soon as we jump started it.Since then on very cold mornings it shorts out but will work fine as soon as you jump start it and have no problems throughout the day.Any ideas will be helpful, thanks.

When it shorted out the first time, one of the battery cells were damaged, therefore it weakened the batterys ability to sustain full charge.Over the year, the damaged cell got worse, resulting in the need for a new battery, because the battery kept dying everytime you switched off.
